Our first turkey hunt ended up in the record books, literally!

We had no idea when we were lucky enough to get this bird. Not until we took it to a local taxidermist did I even know what the National Wild Turkey Federation was!
​
Starting the very next season, we quickly discovered that you quite likely may not get a bird every season, let alone one worthy of the record books. All of our hunts have been on public land and DiY and we wanted to share our stories with you since we are now solidly hooked on turkey hunting!
Colorado Merriam
Our 1st Place bird in Colorado according to the National Wild Turkey Federation...we held onto 1st Place until May of 2019. We remain in 3rd Place for Colorado and 100th Place Nation-Wide!
Our first, and record setting, spring season turkey hunt in April 2011.
